Short Reading
Every Book Starts With an Idea: Notes for Designers
Armand Mevis
notes:
- all books start with a question
> the clearer the question, the more precise the answer
> determines shape and content
- there will always be messy parts that need fixing
> you can't sit and wait for them to come to you
- ask the right questions - get good feedback
- all books start from their content
> content is a source of inspiration in itself
> it tells you where to go
> find the right balance between design & content
"the content is the engine that leads you to ideas"
- make the best out of restrictions such as layout, structure, typography etc
