LCA Christmas Card Competition

Responding to a short live brief

The brief is to design and make 75 Leeds College of Art cards to be mailed out to key college contacts.

- Leeds College of Art works with a variety of businesses
- Seasonal gesture of appreciation

Mandatory Requirements

- Must have a crafted feel but look professional & artistic
- Must include LCA logo
- I will be responsible for the production
- Must fit inside A5 envelope

Content

- 'Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Leeds College of Art'

Tone of Voice

- Friendly and informative tone of voice should be used
- It should be professional, considered and innovative whilst portraying the College as a leader in art education

Concept / Ideas

- consider: Christmas, friendly, creative, vibrant, specialist, independent, unique, innovative, quality and contemporary.

As the deadline for this brief is in under a week, it'll be a new experience for me. Normally, I'd take over a week just for primary research for projects, however I don't have time with this brief.

Approaching this will need a change in method and process.

From the list of concepts and ideas, I will be choosing a few to explore.

One idea that came to mind when reading through the brief is the idea to play with the fact that this year LCA have been granted independence from the Open University. This is a huge deal for the uni and is something I feel should be celebrated through my designs.

Other concepts I will be exploring include vibrance, friendliness and of course Christmas.
